Among the Hidden 15

1. What is Jen's attitude towards being illegal?

2. How does this relate with the negative stereotypes of immigrants, criminals, and homeless people that you have heard of?

***WARNING*** This is a sensitive topic, so professional and respectful language is the only kind of language that is welcomed. Looking at it from a third party perspective may help you when you write your response.

  1. 1. Jen is careless toward her being illegal and she has a negative attitude toward the government. I think her parents aren't a big help either because they let her out with a fake pass, when the government can research that name and see if they really exist.

    2. This relates to homeless people because they have a negative attitude toward government too because the government doesn't want people lying around the street, when that is all the homeless can do.

  2. Courtney, I like your comment but doesn't the government give lots of those guys money, they just waste it all and become homeless again?

  3. 1. Jen hates being illegal and is careless because she doesn't think it is right for her to be illegal because she didn't do anything. Also her parents are part of the government but break the law to, so this probably make sher hate the government more because her father is part of it and he hates it.
    2. This can relate to criminals because normaly when you think of criminals you think of really big tough dudes and that all of them are evil and really bad, but most of them made a poor decision and made a mistake, but they aren't bad people. This relates to the story because Jens dad is part of the government, but he isn't bad.

  4. 1. Jen is completley against being illegal, she thinks the government is crazy and they do not know anything.
    2. Criminals are related to Jen because criminals are in trouble with the government and the hidden children are in trouble because they are not supposed to exist.

  5. Courtney,
How does the hidden children and the homeless people relate, hidden children are not lying around in the street. Otherwise, Courtney, I agree with you, Jen's parents are not helping!

  6. Stephen,
I didn't think the government gave homeless money. If they did, I would think the homeless would spend it wisely.

  7. Devon,
Homeless and hidden children relate because they have a negative attitude towards government.

  8. Jen has a bad attitude when it comes to being illegal. She dislikes the fact that she can't be equal to everyone else. She hates the government and thinks they are wrong to make third children banned. (That bothers me because her dad is working for the government, but she still dislikes it!)

  9. Jen relates to criminals and immigrants because they are always thinking that they are right and the government is wrong. In all cases the government is doing what they think is best for the country.

  10. Jen doesn't like being illegal, all she wants is to NOT be illegal. She doesn't like that she can't have an ID with her name on it and that if she gets an ID it will be like she is someone else. She dispises the government and think they are totally unfair. She thinks that nobody should be illegal and gets a bad attitude when it comes to the government.

Criminals and imigrants and homeless people all think that the government doesn't care about them or anyone like them. They think the government is set out to get them. They think that what they do is right and everything else is wrong. They think that government doesn't like them for no reason. Jen thinks like this too.

  11. Jen doesn't liek being illegal because its like her freedom has been stricten from them. Also she can't be a real person or go places like school, the mall, etc and she hates the government for doing this to her.

Criminals, immagrants, and homeless people don't like the government because they don't think tehy care about them or want to help them. They feel just like Jen that the government has left them in this situation and don't care.

  12. Jen hates being an illegal. She thinks she and all the other 3rd children should have the some rights as everybody else, and I agree.

Criminals, immagrants, and homeless people don't like the government ether. They feel like the government could care less about them. Criminals have just made poor decisions and need some help. I think thats just what they want too. But the government is worrying more about getting them off the streets than helping them. Then homeless people, they just need shelter and love, but the government does nothing about it. They just let them sit around this country all sad and stuff. Then immigrants, back then, were just slaves to the government. They were judged differently because of their skin color. Sometimes, I think Jen might just feel this way..
