  1. My reaction to how Alicia became blind is that I was very upset and sad about it.

    2. No it wasnt I thought it would be liek an acciedent in a car or something big.

    3. I think the author did it in this manner because its kinda liek bobbys situation in a way. It just happened suddenly without warning to her just as Bobby just suddenly became invisible.

  2. 1. I was surprised at how Alicia became blind. I felt very bad for her. I felt kind of embarrassed for her too.

    2. This was not what I expected. I thought it would be something like she got sick or got in some terrible accident where she lost her vision. I never thought that it would be something so common and simple that happened.

    3. I think the author had her become blind in this manor because he wanted to show a connection between her Alicia and Bobby. Both of their "situations" happened because of simple everyday things like falling out of bed or going to sleep. Things that you would never expect to have this effect.

  3. I totally agree with you Gabby.
It was so simple on how she became blind it was plain shocking the author did that.

If you were the author would you have done it like that?

  4. 1. I felt bad for her. I mean, she didn't ask for this. I feel sorry for all people that have trouble.

    2. This is not what I expected in the least.

    3. I think he did this to setup Bobby's problem.

I also agree to that Jane.

  5. 1. I was a little disappointed when I learned how she became blind. It's just weird to wake up one day and just suddenly become blind with no reason. Also I felt kinda bad for her. It's a lot to put on someone her age. It would be a little different if it happened to someone older than her.

    2. It's not what I expected. I expected something much more complicated. Something that wasn't just so sudden for her.

    3. I think she did it that way because she wanted her and Bobby to have something in common. She suddenly goes blind when she wakes up, and he suddenly goes invisible one day when he wakes up.

  6. i think that this is horrible and so tragic. it seems so unlikely that out of the blue in the middle o the night she would go blind. i was also trying to work out why she couldn't find her covers. when she hit her head and went blind i was a little surprised that she didn't blackout. I thought that she was going to have a hard time telling about it. I think the author had it happen like this because he wanted it to connect with reality how something pops out of the blue all of the sudden and you have to deal with it for the rest of your life. there is nothing that anybody else can do because it is yours todeal with, trying to mess you up the best it can, but you just have to keep going.

  7. My reaction to how Alicia became blind is that I was very upset, confused, and sad about it.

    2. No it wasnt I thought it would be like an enormous acciedent in a car or something huge but no it wasn't.

  8. 3. I think the author did this because it adds a more dramatic effect on the book and makes you want to read on like when Bobby became invisible in a nights sleep.

  9. 1. My reaction to her story of becoming blind was comeplete utter shock. I wouldn't want to wake up one morning and then not be able to see. I also, felt confused because I didn't think it was possible to just wake up and be blind.
    2. No, this isn't what I expected. I thought she would of been in a car crash and suffered brain damage in the area where it controlls sight.
    3. I think the author had her become blind in this way because it adds on to how Bobby just one night became invisible and then she becomes blind in just one night.

  10. Kaci,
How does this give a dramatic effect? What part makes you want to read on?

  11. 1. I was kind of surprised that just that could make you blind. I also felt very sorry and scared for the girl. I would not like to wake up and not be able to see! That would be just awful.
    2. This was not what I expected at all! I thought that she had some acid or something in her eyes not just falling out of bed!
    3. I think that the author made her blind because Bobby could talk to her with out her being scared half to death that I am invisible because she can't see me!

  12. 1. I was really suprised about that story. I didn't think that you could get blind from falling out of bed. It would be dreadful to fall out of bed wake up and not be able to see.
    2. This is not what I expected at all. I expected that she was in a car accident or something like that, not just falling out of bed and bumping your head.
    3. I am not sure why the author made Alicia get blind that exact way, but I think I know why he made her blind. The author probably made her blind so that she, at first, would not know that Bobby was invisible.

  13. Lily,
Explain to me how acid can get in your eyes (if you can) otherwise... amazing job!! :)

  14. My reaction was frightened. Sometimes I fall out of bed so I might go blind next time! I never expected that. I thought she was born blind. If not that then she was in a car accident. The author might have done this to prove anything can happen, even when others think it's impossible.

  15. 1. My reaction to how Alicia was blind was surprising. I thought it would have been some major accident, but it was a very small accident.
    2. I expected to hear that she got blind in a huge car accident or some major incedent.
    3. I think that the author made her blind in this manner because it is similar to Bobby. Bobby just wke up, and he was invisible. Alicia just woke up, and she was blind. This may show that Alicia is going to be a main character.

  18. Jason,
To help, my answer to your question to Stephen is, yes it was a small accident. She had bumped her head and the next day became blind.
